About
There’s a lot of information about teaching English on the internet making it easy to get lost and unsure of what is real and unreal. This website is here to help people who don’t know anything about teaching English overseas and need information about TEFL, ESL job types, teaching in Asia, Europe, and Latin America, teaching lessons, and anything related to teaching overseas.
My name is Matt and I used to teach English in Asia and I remember when I first went looking for a teaching job. There was so much information on the web that I felt really lost, overwhelmed, unsure what websites to believe. After years of teaching English, I decided to create this website to help others. Originally, it was to help my friends and their friends who kept bombarding me with e-mails for help but now it is to help others navigate the world of ESL without getting screwed over by the wrong company or not understanding the place they are going to teach in.
Knowledge is power and with it you can make the right choice. Maybe after reading this website, you will find teaching is not for you. Maybe you’ll realize you don’t want to teach in China after all and that Mexico is where you want to be.
Well, I want to give you the information to make the best informed decision you can.
On this website, you will get detailed information about the top places to teach english around the world, job requirements, tefl information, pay, visa issues, and much more. I never found all information I needed in one place. Sick of searching the web for info and understanding your frustrations, I put this site together to help potential teachers learn the basics of what being an English teacher requires and entails without having to go to ten different sites.
If you are really sure you want to teach, I recommend my book provides even more information with detailed country information including pay, living costs, visa information, in depth material you can’t find here, contract help, and 14 exclusive interviews from other teachers around the world that can help you better prepare for your time as an ESL teacher.
If that doesn’t interest you, that’s ok. Feel free to still use the information on this website and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Send me a message using the contact form below.
Sincerely,
Matt
